An overview of data protection

This page explains what personal information we collect when you visit thusaretalkinghands.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We treat your personal data as confidential and handle it in accordance with the Sri Lanka Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 and, for visitors in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Please note that data transmitted over the internet (for example by email) can never be completely secure. We cannot guarantee complete protection of your data against access by third parties.

Notice concerning the party responsible for this website

The party responsible for processing data on this website is:

Thusare Talking Hands (Guarantee) Limited
103/12, Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 7, Sri Lanka
Phone: +94-71-777-6960
Email: info@thusaretalkinghands.com

Your rights

You have the right to ask us at any time, free of charge, what personal data we hold about you, where it came from and who it has been shared with. You may ask us to correct or delete that data, and you may withdraw any consent you have given us. An informal email to info@thusaretalkinghands.com is enough. Please note that data already processed before we receive your request may still have been lawfully processed. If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you have the right to complain to the relevant supervisory authority.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They do not harm your device and contain no viruses. Some cookies are necessary for the website to function, and others help us understand how the site is used.

Most cookies we use are "session cookies", which are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Others remain until you delete them. You can set your browser to notify you when cookies are set, to accept them only in certain cases, or to refuse them entirely. If you disable cookies, some functions of this website may not work properly.

Server log files

Our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser sends to us in server log files. This includes:

– Browser type and version
– Operating system used
– Referrer URL
– Host name of the accessing computer
– Time of the server request
– IP address

This data is not combined with other sources of data. It is collected so that we can provide the website reliably and securely, and so that we can identify technical faults or misuse.

Contact form and enquiries

If you send us an enquiry through a contact form, by email, by telephone or through WhatsApp, we store the details you give us — such as your name, contact details and the content of your message — so that we can answer you and deal with any follow-up questions. We do not pass this information on to anyone else without your consent. We keep it until you ask us to delete it or until it is no longer needed for the purpose it was given.

Booking and appointment information

When you book a treatment with us, we record the details needed to provide that treatment: your name, contact number, the service you have chosen, your appointment time, and any health information or allergies you choose to tell us about. Health information is only seen by the staff involved in your treatment and is used solely to keep you safe during the session. We do not share it with anyone outside Thusare Talking Hands.

We use online booking assistants to collect these details. Depending on how you book, your booking summary is sent to us either as a WhatsApp message, in which case it is processed by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. under its own privacy policy, or through a Google Form, in which case it is stored in our Google account and processed by Google Ireland Limited under its own privacy policy. If you would prefer not to use either, you are welcome to book by telephone instead.

WhatsApp chat widget

Our website includes a WhatsApp chat button provided by Elfsight. When you click it, you are redirected to WhatsApp and your data is processed by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. under its own privacy policy. We receive only the messages you choose to send us.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited. Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyse how visitors use the site. The information generated about your use of this website is usually transmitted to and stored on a Google server.

We use Google Analytics 4, which anonymises IP addresses by default: your IP address is shortened before it is stored, so it cannot be traced back to you directly. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for us, and to provide other services relating to website and internet use. We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising personalisation.

You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser settings, and you can prevent Google from collecting and processing your data by installing the browser add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps to show you where we are. Google Maps is operated by Google Ireland Limited. To use Google Maps, your IP address must be stored, and it is generally transmitted to a Google server. We have no influence over this transfer. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Instagram

This website contains links to and content from Instagram, a service operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. If you are logged into your Instagram account and interact with this content, Instagram can associate your visit to our website with your account. We have no influence over what data Instagram collects or how it is used. Instagram's privacy policy is available at help.instagram.com/519522125107875.

SSL encryption

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" at the start of the address bar and the padlock symbol in your browser. When SSL encryption is active, data you submit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or in the law. The current version is always available on this page.
